The risk of an investment in the PV industry is already high due to the characteristics of the materials, failures occurred during the planning and installation phase and the great uncertainty regarding legislation. This paper identifies the most detected failures, after the on-site inspection, in PV plants and develops a mathematical model in order to quantify the financial impact of the failures on the profitability of the PV plant. A detailed description and a photographic demonstration of the failures recorded after inspection is given. The cause roots of the failures have been identified and commented. The mathematical model has been developed taking into consideration as many as possible parameters of the PV plants in order to calculate the Cost Priority Number of each risk. This thesis focuses on the implementation of a web application, based on the theoretical background of PV industry. The application allows users to create an account using an appealing user-friendly interface on web browser. At the same time, the application gives a possibility to easily save all the electrical measurements on a database and calculate the cost for each failure in a specific photovoltaic plant. All the data related to the application is stored in a database, that is located in the server-side. The server receives and processes all the data that is sent from the web browser and sends back all the requested data. Finally, it takes a real-world problem, like failures in PV industry and it creates a product, based on the newest programming technologies like Docker and React.
